ABOUT US

Nakhchivan Automobile Plant (NAZ) is one of the key enterprises in Azerbaijan’s automotive industry. The plant was established in 2006 and officially commissioned on January 11, 2010. The main goal of establishing the plant was to contribute to the socio-economic development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, to enhance local industrial capacity, and to create new opportunities in the field of mechanical engineering.

In 2009, within the framework of the China-Azerbaijan Business Forum, a cooperation agreement was signed between NAZ and one of China’s leading automotive companies, CHONGQING LIFAN INDUSTRY (GROUP) IMP. & EXP. CO. LTD. Based on this agreement, the assembly of “Lifan” branded vehicles began in Azerbaijan.

A new phase in the plant’s operations began in November 2019. From that date, NAZ became part of Cahan Holding Commercial Companies Union, and modern approaches were introduced into its management and production strategy. With the initiative of Cahan Holding, the plant’s production capabilities were expanded, and a new partnership agreement was signed with China’s FAW Industrial Group. As a result of this cooperation, the FAW T-33, T-77, and T-80 models began to be assembled in Azerbaijan.

Currently, the plant has an annual production capacity of 5,000 vehicles. The production process is organized along 12 assembly lines, and each vehicle goes through finalization stages to ensure high-quality standards. Since its launch, the plant has produced more than 6,000 vehicles across 21 different models. Today, the enterprise employs a specialized team of 13 staff members.

Nakhchivan Automobile Plant continues to play an important role in the development of the automotive industry in the country and in supporting local production.
